Customer Satisfaction
Profile - IMCO Maritime Surveyors
Coming ashore in Singapore in 1955, Capt. Cole worked with the Singapore Harbour Board (now Port of Singapore Authority) and, subsequently, as a ship builder. When the ship building industry waned, he moved from building, to tug and barge hire and operations. Subsequently, as an independent marine consultant, he realised that there were a number of marine services that were not reliable or just not available. That's when he decided to take the plunge and set up his own business. Today, he commands a 'fleet' of companies providing a wide range of services, covering the region and beyond - in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Hong Kong, even the UK. Clearly, he is not a man to take slackers lightly, and whose experienced eye can instantly spot if anything is not 'ship-shape'. "Every person in a business must pull his (or her!) weight - as aboard a ship - and ensure that everything works," he says. "You don't want to be caught in the open seas with a dead engine!" Nor does he want to get caught with air-cons breaking down in his office. "Can you imagine how hot and stuffy it would get in here? I must ensure the environment is comfortable for my staff I can't have anyone jumping ship can I," he said with a wink. When asked why he chose Carrier multi splits for his offices, an apartment, and 4-bedroom house, he says, "The Carrier Man Can, can't he?! They're the best! I never really considered anything else. The office building's central air-con broke down one day, and I decided to install my own aircons, and that was it!" The former sea captain also sings praises about the Carrier Men who maintain his air-conditioning on a regular basis. "They are very professional. They come once every two months and do a thorough job. They know their stuff no fooling around, no short cuts. I've not had a problem with my air-conditioning from the start." "Nowadays, it is so rare to find staff who are dedicated and customer focused even in Singapore! Just the other day I had to kick up a fuss with a big high-tech company, just to have something fixed right." He said of his Carrier Men, "I would have been proud to have them serve on one of my ships." |
