Profile - Mary Ong Nestled in a quiet corner of Bedok is the neatly-kept terrace home of Mdm Mary Ong. The whole house, with its 3+1 rooms and living room, has been cooled by Carrier since 1991.
To that end, she has relied on a Carrier service contract since then. Every two months, her regular technicians pay her a visit and tend to her condensing units and fan coils just as carefully as she tends to her plants. Lest her 'retiree' status fools anyone, this ex-businesswoman had previously run a successful trading company and knows exactly what she wants. "The aircon in my office then was another brand. It was not so reliable," says Mdm Ong. "I can be very fussy," she continues, "I'm not afraid to tell people exactly what I expect." Mdm Ong says she feels at home with Carrier. "I like people who are reliable, must be nice. I tell Carrier I want to see my regular team," she says. Technicians assigned to her are regular faces - "Over the last 9 years they've only been changed a couple of times. With others, they change every time!" Mdm Ong appreciates the care they take when they service the air-cons, "Even after taking everything apart to clean and check, they take the trouble to leave the place as clean as when they found it." |
